About the event

Each month at Yellow Cab we host a different artist in our Large Gallery. We are excited to announce that this month's artist is Jennifer Taylor!

Artist Statement:

Jennifer Taylor is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker specializing in documentation Dayton's vibrant music scene. Her work has been featured in Ghettoblaster Magazine, the Dayton Daily News, and the Dayton City Paper, among other publications. She is known for candid, yet intimate portraits.

Jennifer got her start at the Rochester Institute of Technology, a noted leader in photography and visual communication. Her recent work in music and theatre photography has established her as Dayton's 'rock 'n'roll photographer'.

In 2013, Jennifer was asked by Jeff Opt to join the crew of Such a Night to capture the live recreation of Martin Scorcese's film The Last Waltz, a documentary following The Band on their last public performance. Jennifer accepted the challenge, and has covered the show from the enemble's first rehearsals at the Yellow Cab to their consistently sold-out performances at the Dayton Art Institute.

This year, the cast and crew of Such a Night are excited to bring the production to the Schuster Center for a one-night-only performance backed by the Schuster's own orchestra, in celebration of 5 years in production. The Yellow Cab hopes viewers of this special capsule collection of images will be moved and inspired by the joy and cammeraderie of live music, and invites viewers to see the full exhibit at the Schuster Center in November.
